Family Communications

Update on Honduras trip. You may have heard there was an earthquake off the coast of Honduras early yesterday morning. Pastor Mike called Pam last evening to say everyone was o.k. – they felt the earthquake but there was no damage where they are staying. Pastor Mike is coming home today & will be speaking on Sunday. The rest of the group will return on Sunday.

Reminders:

Ladies, tonight at 7:00 is Craft Night at the Chapel. Join other ladies for fellowship and a crafty adventure. Bring any scrapbook supplies that you have and a snack to share. You will meet downstairs.

This Sunday there will be a cook-out & motorcycle display following the Worship Service. If you plan to stay for the cook-out please bring a side dish & drink. Plan to stay even if you didn’t sign up.

Also, don’t forget that on Monday, June 8 the Chapel is sponsoring a community blood drive. You don’t need to schedule a time to come (it’s just easier on the people taking the blood if you do) but can come by the Chapel anytime between 2 & 8 p.m. If you do want to schedule a time please contact the Chapel office.

Sunday Night fun...

Weather permitting, Sunday Evening will be a time of fellowship, fire, and fun at the Chapel.  The Chapel will be roasting hot dogs on the fire and presenting the latest DVD segment in the That the World May Know series OUTSIDE!  We will begin at 5:00 PM and run until the fire burns out, literally!  Bring your lawn chairs, campfire forks, and fellowship with your Chapel Family on Sunday evening.  Stop by for a few minutes, bring the kids, neighbors, and friends.we want to see everyone enjoy the friendship and fun!

If the weather turns bad, we
ll still meet at 5pm inside for the DVD so come out and join us!

God Bless and have a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!

P.S.  Please keep our missions team in your prayers that the Lord will use them in a powerful way to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those in dire need of salvation and healing.

spiritual compass

Subject: spiritual compass

Here are four truths that can act like a spiritual compass, to help you find
your way back to God when you feel lost:

First of all, God always has a plan for you. He is not surprised about
anything. He has never paced the floor. He is in complete control, with His
feet up.

Second, God's timing is always perfect in your life. He has never been late
or early; He is always right on time. It's difficult to see God's perfect
timing when you are in the midst of a trial, but think about your life.
Rehearse a situation when God's timing was right and let that memory
encourage you in the situation you face today.

Third, you have nothing to fear. That doesn't mean you automatically avoid
all that's painful in life. But I guarantee you that every person in heaven
reflects on his or her life and agrees that even the tragic events turned
out for God's glory.

Fourth, you've got a lot to learn. Too often I want to handle situations
myself; I think I know better. But if you humble yourself in the midst of
painful circumstances, you will realize that God uses everything to
accomplish His good in your life.

So if you feel like you are lost, it is not too late to turn the car around.
Just follow God's directions, and I promise you will find Him.

Happy Mother's Day

Everyone has a mother and tomorrow is a day to celebrate the one that the Lord chose to be yours! God Bless the unsung heroes that really are the bond that hold a family together.  May each Mom have a fantastic Mother’s Day and join us at the Chapel for a time of family fellowship to celebrate our Moms.

See you tomorrow,

Service opportunities for the Chapel...

Dear Chapel Family,

As we steamroll toward mid year, we have encountered some opportunities for you to participate in specific Chapel ministries.  There are several key areas that offer you a chance to use the talent & gifts that the Lord has blessed you to serve & worship Him through your involvement If you would prayerfully consider being involved in these positions:

1.      Nursery & Toddler Schedule Coordinator (Adult/Couple)
2.
Church time Infant or Toddler Volunteer (Adult)
3.      Church time Infant or Toddler Assistants/Helpers (Teen/Adult
)
4.      Scripture Adventure Teacher (Couple or Leader pairs)
5.      Web Site Coordinator (updating website, uploading sermons, and oversee
s web needs)
6.      Computer Network Coordinator (
oversees office computer needs and upgrade requirements)
7.
Banner and Sign Coordinator (Adult & Teen participants)
8.      Mowing Staff (participate in mowing and trimming rotation)

9.      Youth Group Sponsors (assist Kenny and Andrea with outings, events, teaching, speaking, etc as needed)

10.     AWANA teachers/leaders/assistants (Fall 2009 Cubbies, Sparks, T&T, and Trek teams
or PRIZE shoppers!)

Please pray as to how you can participate in these family needs
at Fellowship Chapel.  We are commanded to Serve the Lord with Gladness in all that we do.  We know that each of you is stretched for time each day but time spent in service/worship to the KING provides ultimate joy and fulfillment.  It is an honor to serve and you will receive an abundant heart blessing in whichever area you participate.  Dont miss out on the blessing that the Lord has promised to you when you serve Him with a humble heart.I can speak first hand of the many blessings Ive received by stepping out in faith, letting the Lord lead the way, and using what little talent He may have given me as a form of worship and serve to Him.  Please consider participating in these exciting fellowship and partnership opportunities and contact me, Lisa (Church Time Ministry), Ray Franckewitz (Scripture Adventure), George Bachman (Mowing), Kenny Lewis or Andrea Settle (Teen Youth Group), Duane or Val Williams (AWANA), any Elder/Deacon or the Chapel Office via email, phone, fax, telegraph, pigeon courier, smoke signal, singing telegram, snail mail, Morse code, interpreter, etc.  The key here is step up and step out for Him, TODAY!

I appreciate your willing assistance and if you cannot serve, consider giving a financial gift to support these key ministries.  God bless and have a wonderful week until we meet again!

Thanks,
Tim Holbrook
